$1.425 Million For Surgical Error

Susan Loggans settled a case for $1,425,000 against a gynecological surgeon who performed a pelvic laparoscopy on young woman who had a previous augmentation cystoplasty. This was highly contraindicated surgery due to the high risk of injuring the previously reconstructed bladder of this young woman. This surgery resulted in further injury to the augmented bladder requiring two subsequent surgeries and delayed her opportunity for a kidney transplant for years.
